Saat ini, dunia pendidikan menghadapi era persaingan global yang penuh
tantangan dan permasalahan. Salah satu tantangan yang menonjol adalah krisis
karakter pada anak, terutama dalam hal disiplin, yang terlihat dari perilaku dan cara
bergaul mereka sehari-hari. Untuk mengatasi tantangan ini, diperlukan peran guru
Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam membentuk karakter disiplin melalui arahan dan
keteladanan. Dengan memberikan arahan dan menjadi teladan, guru dapat lebih
mudah membentuk karakter disiplin, karena guru adalah sosok yang diikuti dan
dicontoh. Dalam pelaksanaannya, terdapat berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi
peran guru Pendidikan Agama Islam untuk mencapai tujuan yang diharapkan.
Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penulis melakukan penelitian di Pondok Pesantren
Modern Daarul Falaah Muhammadiyah Merden dengan judul "Peran Guru
Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam Membentuk Karakter Disiplin."
Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan teknik
pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis
menggunakan teknik analisis kualitatif deskriptif.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru telah menjalankan berbagai
tindakan sebagai bagian dari peran mereka dalam membina karakter disiplin santri
di Pondok Pesantren Modern Daarul Falaah Muhammadiyah Merden, namun masih
terdapat beberapa kendala yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaannya. Oleh karena itu,
dapat disimpulkan bahwa untuk membina karakter disiplin siswa, guru perlu
mencari solusi yang sesuai dengan kondisi siswa dalam mengatasi permasalahan
yang ada. Selain itu, peran guru dalam membina santri di Pondok Pesantren Modern
Daarul Falaah Muhammadiyah Merden harus lebih ditingkatkan dengan
mengambil langkah tegas jika terjadi pelanggaran tata tertib pondok terkait
kedisiplinan santri.

Currently, the world of education is facing an era of global competition
filled with challenges and problems. One prominent challenge is the crisis of
character among children, especially in terms of discipline, which is evident in their
daily behavior and interactions. To address this challenge, the role of Islamic
Religious Education teachers in shaping disciplined character through guidance and
example is crucial. By providing guidance and being role models, teachers can more
easily instill disciplined character, as they are figures to be followed and emulated.
In its implementation, various factors influence the role of Islamic Religious
Education teachers in achieving the desired goals. Based on this, the author
conducted a study at the Daarul Falaah Muhammadiyah Modern Islamic Boarding
School in Merden titled "The Role of Islamic Religious Education Teachers in
Shaping Discipline Character."
This research method uses a qualitative approach, with data collection
techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The data is
analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis techniques.
The results of the study show that teachers have undertaken various actions
as part of their role in fostering discipline among students at Daarul Falaah
Muhammadiyah Modern Islamic Boarding School in Merden. However, there are
still some challenges faced in its implementation. Therefore, it can be concluded
that to cultivate discipline among students, teachers need to find solutions that suit
the students' conditions in addressing existing problems. Additionally, the role of
teachers in nurturing students at Daarul Falaah Muhammadiyah Modern Islamic
Boarding School in Merden must be enhanced by taking firm action when there are
violations of the boarding school's rules regarding student discipline.
