Shalat berjama’ah memiliki peran penting dalam pembentukan karakter santri, khususnya dalam menanamkan kedisiplinan, tanggung jawab, dan kebersamaan. Pondok Pesantren Modern Daarul Falaah Muhammadiyah Merden Banjarnegara menjadikan shalat berjama’ah sebagai bagian penting dari pendidikan, namun masih menghadapi kendala kedisiplinan di kalangan santri kelas 9. Meski telah dilakukan berbagai upaya seperti ceramah, pengawasan, dan sanksi edukatif, efektivitasnya perlu dievaluasi lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji upaya konkret pesantren dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan shalat berjama’ah secara sistematis.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan jenis studi kasus, bertujuan untuk memahami upaya Pondok Pesantren Modern Daarul Falaah Muhammadiyah Merden Banjarnegara dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan shalat berjama’ah santri kelas 9 putra. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan mudir, pamong, musyrif, dan santri, observasi partisipatif terhadap pelaksanaan shalat berjama’ah, serta dokumentasi dari arsip dan dokumen resmi pesantren. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan pengumpulan, reduksi, penyajian, serta penarikan kesimpulan untuk menjawab rumusan masalah dan mengevaluasi faktor pendukung maupun penghambat dalam proses pembinaan disiplin ibadah.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan santri kelas 9 putra kurang disiplin dalam shalat berjama’ah meliputi lemahnya kesadaran pribadi, rendahnya motivasi spiritual, pengaruh lingkungan negatif, kelelahan, dan manajemen waktu yang buruk. Upaya pesantren dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan dilakukan melalui teguran dan sanksi, jadwal piket, keteladanan pamong dan musyrif, serta penguatan motivasi spiritual melalui pengajian dan tausiyah. Adapun kendala yang dihadapi mencakup terbatasnya jumlah pamong, kurangnya internalisasi nilai ibadah, sikap masa bodoh sebagian santri, serta pengaruh budaya kamar dan dinamika kelompok.

Congregational prayer plays a crucial role in shaping students’ character, particularly in instilling discipline, responsibility, and a sense of community. Daarul Falaah Muhammadiyah Modern Islamic Boarding School in Merden Banjarnegara places congregational prayer as a central aspect of its educational approach. However, it still faces challenges related to discipline among Grade 9 male students. Although various efforts such as sermons, supervision, and educational sanctions have been implemented, their effectiveness requires further evaluation. This study aims to systematically examine the concrete efforts made by the pesantren to improve the students’ discipline in performing congregational prayers.
This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method to explore the efforts of Daarul Falaah Muhammadiyah Modern Islamic Boarding School in enhancing the prayer discipline of Grade 9 male students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the head of the pesantren, dormitory supervisors, musyrif (student mentors), and students themselves; participatory observation of the congregational prayer practices; and document analysis from official school archives. The data were analyzed through the stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions, in order to answer the research questions and evaluate the supporting and inhibiting factors in fostering prayer discipline.
The findings indicate that the factors contributing to the lack of discipline include low personal awareness, weak spiritual motivation, negative peer influence, fatigue, and poor time management. The pesantren’s efforts to improve discipline include verbal warnings and sanctions, scheduled prayer duty rosters, role modeling by staff and mentors, and motivational efforts such as religious talks and spiritual reinforcement. Challenges faced by the pesantren include limited staff, weak internalization of worship values, students’ indifference, and the influence of dormitory group culture and peer dynamics.
